It Keeps You Runnin'

Well Monday has been and gone and I am only just now getting time to write this... I'm still at work. I love Annual Report season.

So anyway this weekend, I was home alone. But being the good little house wife I still worked. I painted the ceilings and cornice for a third time in the hallway, lounge, kitchen and spare room (as requested by Aaron).

I also finally got around to slapping some coloured paint on the walls. Woohoo. So the spare room looks amazing with my light grey colour. Hot tip #2 (from our painter friend) Do the final coat once the architraves etc have been put on. So... we wont be doing a final coat until later, but it still looks amazing.

Not many pics cause its just a plain room with grey walls.

My first job for Saturday was a trip to the vet! He is 100% perfect. Just a general checkup and some needles.

Oh we did our final coat of the ceiling etc on the Friday night.

All maked off and ready to go!

Grey room! Woop woop! (not a great pic)

Extra Astronomical

Yay for public holidays!

And to celebrate you get an extra edition.

Aaron is away this weekend, so there wont be much of an update and then next weekend we have his friend Luke visiting, so no work again.

Yay for a break, but boo no work will get done.

This is what we got done yesterday.
This is how the wardrobe was when I left on Wednesday morning for training

Here I am doing the 2nd coat of the cornice

Gee he is clever!

Gyprock and plastered all in one day

Yay for the wardrobe

Instead of the usual pic of Jackson, here is a video. Sometimes we take him down the oval to play fetch. He is a quick little thing.

Dog Days Are Over

Yay it's Monday and we have Wednesday off! Woohoo! Thank you Mr Ekka!

Another weekend has past and we are feeling like we are progressing well. But we also know, we have a few weekends where we wont get much done. We really want to start on the bathroom but have lots of little things to get done first.

We spent the weekend preping the house to paint (hallway, lounge, kitchen and spare room 1). On Saturday we had Sian's partner hang out with us and he gave us some hot tips on painting as he is a professional. So instead of painting on Saturday liked we had planned, we used no more gaps in all the gaps. Just gives the edges a little more give and nice clean lines or something like that. Not too sure but that was hot tip number 1.

Sunday I started painting the cornices and ceilings. I have a sore neck now! ha! But it looks great, not many pics of it as all it looks like is a white room.

Aaron had a little more fun and built the frame for our wardrobe! Yay! We did this so we can plaster the frame and put the cornice up and then paint! We still haven't spent one night in the mater bedroom.

Our little list of things to do includes:

  • Paint
  • Pantry
  • Windows
  • Door Jams
  • Arcitraves
  • Skirting
  • Wardrobe
  • Floors
  • Kitchen bench/sink
And then maybe once most of these are done we can start the bathroom.

No more gapping the cornice

Aaron thought he would never have to sand the ceiling again..haha

Oh and we have a blocked drain! Dam it.  Plumber coming on Thursday.

Here is the start to our wardrobe. Sorry about the mess but it was easier to build around it.

Amazing, all done in one afternoon.

First coat of ceiling and

Finished.
And while we work Jackson chose the best seat in the house, the warm sun

He also like to play fetch I think

Rest

Not too much too report on today.

Aaron spent Saturday with Joel working on the lights. Yay we can turn the lights on from the front door. We don't have to walk though the house in the dark, trying to find some lights to turn on.

Aaron has just found out he has a buldging disc in his spine and also a factored disc (not the same ones), so no more training for him for awhile. Which is driving him nuts.

I went in a competition which was a bit out of my/our league! I think we came 42nd out of 42 teams. haha!

We spent Sunday with Brad, we went to Kingscliff and to Mavis's. It was nice to have a nice relaxing day with Brad, showing him some of our favorite places.

Anyway next weekend we start painting, yay!

Racquel and I - before we started.

In heat 1!

Push-up by in, we had to touch hand back up the top.

Kettlebell swinging

Team AJ's all in a row

Team 41 soon became team 42! haha!

Lights and cornice!

All the cables!

Yay for lights

What a magical view, every time I go here I get more and more excited!
Having a yummy gelto in Kingcliff

I am getting bad forgetting to include Jackson, here he is just before bed last night!
