On and on

We are both a little disappointed with our progress this weekend, can't really say anything more than that.

On another note, I am so proud of Aaron, starting an apprenticeship in carpentry today. I know that is has taken an enormous amount of courage to give up a career and start another one. Using his design skills will help Aaron stand out in the crowd as a truly amazing carpenter/builder.

Oh and its not everyday you get to say your husbands design was featured in the LA times. Aaron's buzz bench and bike rack was a hit overseas, his boss was over there to showcase some of their new designs. Aaron's was the most talked about, EVER!  Woop!

Blurred lines

Bathroom floor tiles down, is there really anything more I need to say???

During the week we spent a few late nights waterproofing the bathroom. It's a lovely shade of green. Saturday we were hopeful to start tiling but because our house is the worlds coldest house the waterproofing hadn't dried from the night before.

Aaron put the architraves around the bathroom door and we then we practiced cutting tiles using the wet saw. I spent Saturday driving around look for a new blade to fit the machine.

Sunday it was on. Firstly we thought we would start with the back wall, thinking if we get that done we can finish with the floor. It got to lunch time and we hadn't got very far so we swapped and thought we would have a better chance at finishing the floor that day. Yep 7-8 hours later, we did finish the floor. woohoo!

Dad made us some amazing bedside tables and we finally got a white laminate top on them. They are just great! Such a clever dad.

Before waterproofing you have to prime the area

Don't stop

I can finally say we have 4 walls in our bathroom and we are well on the way to tiling! Hazah!

A big thank you to mum and dad, who came down from the sunny coast for the day to help! We honestly wouldn't have been able to get to where we are without them. We were supposed to go and stay with them for the weekend but I had to work on Sunday and I really needed help lifting those cement sheets. I just wasn't confident lifting them just Azz and I. But of course that meant I pretty much lost a job. I was official pencil and glue girl. But that's ok, as the job got done.

Azz spent Sunday filling the gaps and preparing the room for water proofing which we will do during the week.

Wonderwall

Hmm, not so many posts have been happening. I have been waiting for a really good one but... that hasn't happened! Anyway this bathroom is taking way longer than we have anticipated. We did FINALLY get some sheets up, on one wall only.

IN the last few weeks, we have got the bath into position, that took nearly a whole day the other weekend. We also have cement sheeted the floor. Azz had to nail every 150mm.

We have also put in the niche into the back wall, so that's where all the toiletries will sit. And also sheeted that back wall.  We would have sheeted more walls yesterday but unfortunately it rained and when we went out to start it started raining harder... wasn't meant to be.

That's pretty much it.

O I nearly forgot, we were also lucky enough to have mum and dad stay with us for a few days and they went crazy on the yard and cleaned it all up. Now we just need to hire a skip to get rid of all the branches etc, we will do that once the bathroom is done. Dad also made us some amazing bedside tables, we are just getting them finished off, so stay tuned.

Woohoo for a short week
