Just another Manic Monday

In a weekend of birthday's and family, Aaron and I didn't get anything done, actually I lie, Aaron worked on his motorbike with his Dad, so lucky for Aaron his bike will be fixed soon and unlucky for me I will be back to catching the bus...booo

Happy 1st birthday to Alexa (Aaron's niece) and another happy birthday to Karen (Aaron's mum).

Here is a special post from ANZAC day! I'd also like to take time out and have a big shout out to Dad who marched on ANZAC day, what a champ. I've attached a pic of Dad, I'm so proud!

As well as renovating Aaron and I have been Crossfitting, so on ANZAC day to commemorate the fallen we did a special Workout Of the Day (WOD) called "Wood" some workouts in crossfit are named after fallen soldiers. So I dedicated this work out to my dad and my grandad, although they didn't die in the war they both served time.

"Wood"
5 Rounds for time of:
  • Run 400 meters
  • 10 Burpee box jumps, 24" box
  • 10 Sumo-deadlift high-pull 42.5/30kg
  • 10 Thruster  42.5/30kg
  • Rest 1 minute

So after Crossfit we got back to the walls, this dam plastering has made me sick. All the dust in the air and my poor little sinus are holding up the white flag in defeat.

On some of the walls we are up to top coating, which is pretty hard I might add. Also ceiling suck too.
We need to get the kitchen completed ASAP as the kitchen should be arriving in 4 weeks (fingers crossed)!

Til next time

Monday morning

And here we are again... It's monday! I feel a little more relaxed after this weekend than other weekends, that might be because Aaron did most of the work and I just watched...

I didn't have much choice in the watching part because everything that I could do, needed something Aaron was using. Lucky me! So I created a list of all the things I did while Aaron was slaving away plastering the house.

1. Grocery shopping
2. Fruit and veg shopping
3. Made lunch
4. Cooked dinner
5. Made snacks for working week
6. Made lunches for working week, dropped one on the floor so now only have 1 and a half lunches for working week.
7. Gave Jackson a bath
8. Brushed Jackson
9.  Played with Jackson

Now I'm just making up things to make my list longer. Anyway hats off to Aaron for keeping up the enthusiasm and continuing on the boring old plastering and sanding. I'm bored of it now and can't wait to paint! Yay! Then it will defiantly look like a house.

Til next week!

Mack had enough of Jackson, so he went to sleep under the plank

Sanding, I'm pretty sure this is why I have a sinus infection. Dam you plaster dust!

Aaron was so please he got this level!

Oh I forgot to add in Mixing plaster to my list of jobs.

Mack had enough...again

Ready for the weekend

A massive weekend but it didn't include any house stuff.
We had 4 visitors stay Rach, Alanna, Ben and Tee so that tested the little old house and it held up well. The next time they come to visit the house it will be completely different. So here is a few little pics from our night out celebrating my 30th birthday!

Until next week

Extra, Extra

I noticed Aaron didn't include a picture of Jackson this week. So I have uploaded a few extra pics for you.

Our view on our run on Sunday morning.

Aaron's shorts after plastering

A weekend wouldn't be complete without 2 trips to Bunnings

My hands got sore from the gym and then from sanding, so I turned to my weights gloves to help out

Missy came over to help plaster...

What the floors will look like all polished up

Mixing up our first batch of plaster...and you thought I forgot about Jackson. Isn't he the cutest???!!!

All Night Long

So I guess its my turn to write on the blog.

So the Easter long weekend has been and gone...sigh. Our list of things to do was long and as per usual we get to the last night before the working week and look back at what we have done and think hmm did we really get much done?

Anyways... so Friday we started on the plastering....we don't know what everyone was talking about, its fun! We started in the main bedroom on the wall that will be covered by a wardrobe. It took a few walls to get the technique right (or as close as we thought) but we think we have got it down packed. Most of the rooms now have their second base coat ready for the top coat in the coming week. We thought we would leave the ceilings to last as we really are not looking forward to doing them.

On Saturday we ran out to the tip to dump some more of the green waste from around the house ( I think we are up to our 4th trip just of trees and shrubs). The afternoon was spent at Harvey Norman looking for appliances for our kitchen which we should see in approx 6 weeks....wooo hoo. We have picked out a few things we really like and look forward to having a place where we can cook and clean that's not outside.

Easter Sunday started with a run around the Brisbane River followed by lunch with the family at Ant and Jess's. We took the arvo off...

And finally Easter Monday we were back on the tools! I worked on the remaining beading and Bec spent most the day sanding the walls in preparation for the final top coat. We spent the arvo cleaning the place and got a sneak peak at what the floors will hopefully look like once they are polished. Having issues uploading pics so here are just a few.

Enjoy.

Thats a big roll of tape

History Repeating

In another weekend of Gyprocking walls I felt a little overwhelmed all weekend and pretty much everything we did was HARD! So we finally finished Gyprocking the walls, we have one more wall left but that wont get done until later. So we finished that on Saturday evening about 7pm. Sunday we didn't accomplish much, except I dropped our dinner set on the ground and that broke, so that's awesome. Aaron tried to fix his motorbike but that didn't work either. So we gave up and got organised for the working week, which is short (THANK GOOODNESS). Yay for chocolate. So not much more to report. I don't even have any pics to upload so I have added one of Jackson sleeping. Oh and to add to the highs and lows of the weekend, dog sitting 2 extra dogs makes for hard work, but saying that I think Jackson will miss little/big Mac.

Jackson takes himself to bed when he has had too much.
