Hello ceilings...

Woohoo we have ceilings! So where to start, we picked Jacob up from the airport on a rainy friday night. It was pouring! So Saturday morning Aaron picked up the sheet lifter machine and the automatic drill machine. And so it began, Aaron and Jake finished off sarking the roof to prevent any leaks. I think the first sheet up about lunch time Saturday and we didn't stop until very late Sat night. Sunday morning I had to head to Kennards to return the auto drill machine thingo as it kept jamming, after a little discussion I managed to get all our money back. Don't send a man to do a woman's job! haha After Kennards I went to bunnings and replaced the auto drill and bought myself a Makita Impact drill it worked a treat, hard wood isn't so hard with this little beauty. So another long day ended but we have ceilings, its amazing, looks so much brighter. For some reason the pics didn't come out in order.

The Queen...of insulation

Check it - Queen of Insulation. Probably did about 1/3 of the house last night maybe actually a 1/4. But its all good, its something I can do, rather than sweep and cook. Yep had to wear a jumper in 30 degree heat as my long sleeve clothes are at Shayla's in storage. The house is now a little more wooly than woody!

Hardwood is really HARD!!!

In another epic weekend, we find ourselves saying there aren't enough hours in the day, or days in a weekend. So this weekends focus was to get the electrical all ready for the ceiling and walls to go up. Aaron spent the weekend pretty much up in the roof. We were lucky enough to get a 101 course in electrical from Anthony Melrose, and then we were lucky enough for Ant Hunter to come over and help Aaron with putting some sark under the roof. I spent the weekend packing the walls to ensure they are flush for next week. Firstly Aaron asked me to nail the MDF into the beams, this didn't work so well (dam hard wood), then I moved onto liquid nails and lastly and the winner the air gun stapler thingo!
There always needs to be a pic of Jackson in here - cuddles before work!

This is my fav plant at our house, when mum and dad visit we'll separate them and make more of them.

Jackson and I started our Saturday with a run. Then the vet told me no running until he is 18 months - Dam it

All about the roof!

Sigh...another weekend over... This weekend was spent with Aaron covered in sweat stuck in the roof fixing the leaks, rust and holes. Mean while I was off with Shayla having a well deserved pedicure and manicure. The manicure was a little redundant now as it doesn't even look like I had one. While Aaron was in the roof I moved all our bathroom tiles from the front of the house to under the house, I also moved old hardwood beams to under the house. I basically just cleaned up around the house, planted some passionfruit plants, Laurie gave me a yellow one and I went and got a red one and then I also got a raspberry tree (yummm). I also gave Jackson a haircut! Domestic godess! Oh and we had a possum and its baby in our roof on Sunday, they have now gone :( and Aaron has blocked the hole.

Up Up and Away

Before haircut - still so cute

The Wall Came Down...

We have an even more open plan house now that we removed the wall between the Lounge and Kitchen. Rocky our amazing builder from ROCKBUILD pulled down the supporting wall and used a giant pine beam to support the wall. He also built in my GIANT walk in panty (I'm in heaven). It's going to be an amazing kitchen/lounge. I can't wait!

We have hot water!

In an eventful week, we finally have hot water!!! And we no longer have to shower at friends house's, well for the mean time that is until we pull out the bathroom. We also now have a front yard, we cleaned up the garden and removed all the stuff from the asbestos removal. We filled a 6 cubic meter skip bin. We also picked up our free Dishwasher thanks Rowland! It was another weekend full on, we just didn't stop. Today the wall between the kitchen and lounge is being removed so that's cool and we should start moving towards a routine again.
And the gardening starts

We have one pretty plant in our yard

Azz felt this was the dinner of champions, after a long day gardening

Strong - Aaron found a cane toad in the pile of timber, this is where I stopped helping. haha
