White wedding

I don't have anything to add this week. As we were away for a wedding.

The guy across the road is knocking down his house and re-building, we'll keep an eye on it and keep you updated.

We got their fence for a case of beer. Yay for Jackson.

I didn't take any pics of Jackson this week, so I have included one of him when he was a little pup.

Mr Brightside

Hmm not much to report on this week. Aaron says its hardly worth a post, he may be right.

Saturday I went to a hens party and Aaron worked on his motorbike.

Sunday we undercoated the master bedroom, we were supposed to start on the windows but just didn't get around to it.

We have a wedding this weekend so wont get anything done. October we are all free and going to save the weekends for the house. I'd like to have the wardrobe done by October. Lets see how we go!

I bet you look good on the dancefloor

Can you believe it's September already??? In 5 days it will be 6 months til Aaron and I get married. CRAZY!

We have been renovating the house for 228 days. Maybe its more like living in the house for 228 days and renovating for less than half of that.

In this time we have:

  • fixed the roof from leaks
  • installed insulation into the wall cavities
  • thrown up the walls and ceilings
  • stopped the walls and ceilings
  • hung up the cornice in every room, except bathroom and 1 spare room
  • undercoated the walls and ceilings
  • 1st coat of colour on the walls, in most rooms
  • all new electrical, including downlights
  • got a new kitchen (still waiting on the benchtop and sink)
  • started paint stripping the windows
  • started a veggie garden
  • started the materbedroom wardrobe
We've come a pretty long way and there doesn't feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel, but we will get there

For the month of September we are pretty busy, our social calendar is pretty full. I have 2 hens parties, a wedding and a baby shower. Someone should make a movie on it?

Anyway so this weekend we could really only do work on Sunday as we had Jess's hen on Saturday and the party started off at our house.

On Saturday morning we went and picked up our windows that had been dipped, they look great. So maybe next weekend we will start putting them back in. Next time we will give Chip (the paint stripper) the windows from the master bedroom. Once it gets a little hotter we will get the lounge
and kitchen done.

So on Sunday we put the cornice up in the wardrobe space and also in the master bedroom. We actually had a little mishap with the cornice in the master bedroom, I think I made the cement a little too wet and we had one length of cornice fall down and smash on the floor. Aaron wasn't impressed...oops

I also painted our feature wall in the lounge room. Cutting into corners is super hard and it's all bleed. Dam it. Stupid sticky tape that says it locks in so there is no bleed. They lied.

Workin' day and night

2 weeks since my last post!

Last weekend we had Aaron's friend Luke come and stay, so not house stuff happened. We did however go to a 1920's party for my friend Laurie.Happy 30th Laurie!

So that was last weekend.

This weekend our goal was to:
  • finish painting the hallway, kitchen and lounge room
  • finish plastering the wardrobe
  • put the cornice up in the master bedroom
  • build a veggie garden
Out of the list we got three. We didn't get time to get the cornice up in the master bedroom. If we plastered through the week, last week we would have got there... but we didn't.

We may try and get the cornice up one night this week, but we'll see how we go. I am keen to start on the wardrobes. No more moving clothes from one room to the other.

I think a picture say 1000 words do instead of me crapping on see below.

Back to the 1920's

This is all that is left - a mouse ate the rest! (a whole moving box full of shoes :( )
