Holiday!

I bet you were thinking we were too hungover to work all weekend, hmmmm maybe!

Well it wasn't a very productive weekend, or exciting renovating weekend. But we did complete a few things, well mainly Aaron.

Friday I had my Rowland Christmas Party. It was nautical theme at the Regatta. I had a sore little head on Saturday! But no rest for the wicked, so we went out to buy the floor polish stuff. Yep we are getting ready to do the floors, in the kitchen, lounge and hallway! Aaron is sooo excited. It will be a little weird to have nice floors in the main areas but in the bedroom it will be back to plain old wood. Some time next year we will get carpet!

Saturday night we had our Crossfit Christmas Party which was also themed. It was a hoe down theme and had a mechanical bull! It was pretty fun!

Sunday Aaron has a nice little hangover but he is such a trooper and finished off the fence. The poor thing was working most of the day in the heat, it was HOT! We also put the rails in the wardrobe, I've already used up most of my hanging space. Dam it!

So that's us. Only 3.5 days left of work! Bring it!

We have also had some progress across the road, slab has been laid. I'm guessing they will be back next year to finish.

Settle Down

Another weekend over and I'm a little sad, mum and dad left this morning. They were both amazing and helped us out heaps!

So thanks to Baz and Joy for all their help with the house and the wedding preparations. I honestly have the most giving parents.

So what did we do, I again was lucky enough to pretty much have the weekend off. I did one little job of doing the final coat of ceiling paint in the master bedroom.

Aaron and dad did a lot more. They set the posts on the other side of the house, they put together the fence on the other side and the wardrobe is now constructed.

Dad is making the draws so we will get them in March, when they come up for the wedding, we are just waiting on the rods so we can finally hang our clothes. Oh and then the doors, not sure when they are coming...

We also fitted in my Aunty's surprise 70th birthday in on Saturday! Which was a lovely party organised by mum and Thea's daughter.

Just so you know, only 9 more work days left, not 10 because the day of the Christmas party day doesn't count, which is this Friday!

And we have also made it to double digits for the wedding, only 96 days to go! Have you got your outfit sorted?

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards

Well what a week!

To our great amazement Aaron and I have been shortlisted for The Block 2013. HOLY S**T!

So on Saturday we went for an interview. We took cake and had afternoon tea with the casting crew. We think we went well. From what we can work out we have about a one in ten chance. Who would have thought???!!!!

Anyway that's probably our biggest news.

Oh except mum and dad arrived on Friday! Woohoo

I think we have already broken dad, but he has a good work ethic and keeps on going, bless.

I pretty much had the weekend off as Dad took over from me, lucky! So they dug some holes with the hole digger and also started putting in the fence posts.

That's really the weekend.

Just so you know only 14 work days left for the year if you don't include today, which I don't as it's nearly over!

Bring on Christmas and possibly THE BLOCK 2013!

Oh and I can't believe I almost forgot!  One of the most exciting things to happen to Aaron and I this year, we finally have a kitchen sink! Praise the renovating gods. We decided that the bench top might be awhile off, maybe after the wedding, so until then we put a temporary one in. Mum is already loving not having to go down to the laundry to washup! Good weekend all round I do believe.

ALSO... so many things I forgot to say – a big congratulations to our lovely friends Laurie and Myles and Julia and Paul who have both announced they are having a baby each. Laurie and Myles's second and Julia and Paul's first! Yay exciting times.

Spinning around

Another weekend over and of course we didn't get all the things we wanted complete, completed...

It was a busy week leading up to the weekend with saying goodbye to some family, JO back to New York and Karen back to Canberra. And also adding in some late night painting to prepare the master bedroom for the wardrobe.

We also went to the Coldplay concert on Wednesday night, which was amazing, it's coming close to one of the best concerts I have been to, and we all know I have been to a few. It all started with fireworks, giant confetti cannons, giant balloons and flashing wrist bands. Also not to mention at one point I was 1metre away from Chris Martin as he walked from the front of stage to the back, where he did some songs from back of the arena on a secret stage.

Saturday's plan was to dig some holes for the fence we are going to put up on the sides of the house. We hired a 2 person hole digger to make life easier for us and Aaron's back... but that didn't work. We tried and tried but the machine wouldn't click over. So there went that plan. But on the bright side now the areas are ready to go when we borrow the hole digger next weekend.

So onto the other task of building the wardrobe. Its hard when you design for a wardrobe to be straight and the walls and floor aren't even. Dam you 1950's house. Anyway Aaron got all the pieces cut and labeled so it's like our own little IKEA kit - IKOWALD. We are 3/4 through the wardrobe and hoping to have that finished next weekend also.Aaron is a little obsessed with making it all flush, level and even, but I don't think that's so easy with our little old house.

Mum and dad arrive this Friday, winning! So they can help with all these things and more, Woohoo!
