Spinning around

Another weekend over and of course we didn't get all the things we wanted complete, completed...

It was a busy week leading up to the weekend with saying goodbye to some family, JO back to New York and Karen back to Canberra. And also adding in some late night painting to prepare the master bedroom for the wardrobe.

We also went to the Coldplay concert on Wednesday night, which was amazing, it's coming close to one of the best concerts I have been to, and we all know I have been to a few. It all started with fireworks, giant confetti cannons, giant balloons and flashing wrist bands. Also not to mention at one point I was 1metre away from Chris Martin as he walked from the front of stage to the back, where he did some songs from back of the arena on a secret stage.

Saturday's plan was to dig some holes for the fence we are going to put up on the sides of the house. We hired a 2 person hole digger to make life easier for us and Aaron's back... but that didn't work. We tried and tried but the machine wouldn't click over. So there went that plan. But on the bright side now the areas are ready to go when we borrow the hole digger next weekend.

So onto the other task of building the wardrobe. Its hard when you design for a wardrobe to be straight and the walls and floor aren't even. Dam you 1950's house. Anyway Aaron got all the pieces cut and labeled so it's like our own little IKEA kit - IKOWALD. We are 3/4 through the wardrobe and hoping to have that finished next weekend also.Aaron is a little obsessed with making it all flush, level and even, but I don't think that's so easy with our little old house.

Mum and dad arrive this Friday, winning! So they can help with all these things and more, Woohoo!

2 Hearts

Hello, post number 2 for the day!

Ant and Jess's wedding has now been and gone, it was a lovely wedding and we had a great time away down at Kingscliff.

Now we are counting the sleeps til our wedding. 3 months and 25 days or 114 days which ever you prefer, I have a widget on my computer and phone.

Even though we had the wedding we still had time to fit in some house stuff.

Luckily on Friday before we left for Kingscliff we put the windows in the master bedroom, if we didn't we would have a very wet room due to all the storms Brisbane had while we were away.

Sunday afternoon we moved everything from the master bedroom and spare room into the other spare room (where we have been sleeping) because this week we will prep the master bedroom for the wardrobe to be installed on Saturday! Yipee!

We still have some work to do in the spare room, final coat of paint, skirting and doors and door jams, curtains and floors but it makes more sense for us to be in there at the moment and we can use the other room as the workshop, tool room and walk-in-robe.

24 work days left for the year - winning!

Well I've had this post sitting here since last Monday waiting for Aaron to send me some pics. Lucky you, two for the price of one.

Another weekend over, and another working week begins.

We have six more weeks left of work! Winner!

Aaron was a busy boy this weekend and I was being the lady of leisure back home in Canberra!

Aaron spent the weekend working on the windows as per usual, he added locks to the new windows and prepared the master bedroom windows for us to put them in this week.

He also spent some time up in the ceiling, finishing off all the electrical, so we have all the lights in and ready for the ceiling fans to put in once we get them off layby.

This weekend we have Jess and Ant's wedding, the only thing we will get to will be putting the windows before we leave on Friday.

The weekend after we will start putting the wardrobe together, fingers crossed. We have some cool ideas for that, so stay tuned.

Black crow

Well there's another weekend gone, can you believe it's November already??

So we had an eventful week, we had a possum stuck in a tree trying to escape the evil crows. I was running around the backyard like a crazy woman trying to protect the possum, it must have been pretty funny to watch. I'm hoping he got home safe. He really shouldn't have been out partying all night!

So what else, we spent each week night on the floor staining the master bedroom windows. They will be ready to go in this weekend but I am away, so we wont be able to put them in until the weekend after.

This weekend Aaron put the frames in the master bedroom windows and I painted the architraves in the spare room. They look awesome. We also put in the other windows in the spare room. We have one room complete with the new windows!

On another note, I made another veggie garden, all by myself. You may think by the pictures that all I did was stack 2 pallets on top of each other but you are wrong. I pulled off lengths of timber, screwed in it all together, shoveled the dirt, it was hard work! But I did it all by myself! Yep I'm pretty cool!

We also made a few things for the wedding which are a secret and you will have to wait and see...Only 4 months and 11 days to go!

I'm off to Canberra this weekend for Alanna's 30th. I've told Aaron he isn't allowed to leave the house and it needs to be finished by the time I get home. Fingers crossed he listens!
