Let there be light

2 weeks off and I bet you have been missing me!

Well to be honest not that much has happened and we didn't think you would want to look at more photos of Aaron sanding, me cooking, and us painting.

Last weekend we went out to Ipswich to see my Aunty Thea and steal a few of her belongings as she is moving house. Poor thing has lived in her current house for about 60 years. It must be tough moving after all that time. But she will be ok. So we stole from Thea 3 old school suitcases, I am going to make one of them into a table to be a feature.

Sunday I think I spent the day cooking for the working week. Aaron plastered, sanded and painted some ceilings. I think he is becoming obsessed with the ceilings.

This weekend again was spent on the ceilings but this time Aaron was planning out the lights. They look amazing and really transform the house. So much better than the floros we currently have poking out.

I spent the day paint stripping and sanding back the windows, we have decided as a feature of the house we are going to have dark stained window frames and windows, but then have white architraves. It's going to be a painful job but I think the most rewarding as it will be a key feature to the house and its not very common.

OMG so cute!

More sanding, Aaron's favorite past time

Installing the lights

Drilling light holes

Fitting off the lights

Kitchen light holes

oooo pretty

The start of my creation

Adding heat to melt the wax

Complete!

Probably should have taken a shot of it before I started

We tried every technique to get the paint off, paint stripper, electric hand sander, belt sander, "the renovator" and finally the dremel

Yep I'm wearing sunnies! It was bright!

My finished window, well until next weekend, where I will actually take the window off and do the other side and be able to get stuck into it.
